Savvy Storage Solution

So this is how it started for me. I was looking for ways to store my growing collection of makeup. So I started with this unit from Walmart. This drawer unit has 5 draws and only cost $8.88 or $8.98. It was a great starter but it really wasn't what I had wanted. I looked on YouTube and Pinterest for ideas of what I wanted. I searched for different units on eBay and Amazon and they were so costly. So one day I went to tjmaxx and saw a great acrylic unit that had 3 drawers but it wasn't enough. It was $24.99. I thought it was great but I held out on getting it. So I came home and did more research online. I looked at Amazon, eBay and even BhCosmetics. And they were a little costly....I am a stay at home mom on a budget so it had to be cost effective. So I kept looking at Pinterest for more ideas and came up with this for my brushes.
 I got these apothecary jars from tjmaxx's clearance section for $5.50 each. The beads in the jar I got from Michael's for $5.99. I had the ribbon so I add it for a nice touch to go with my vanity decor. This is a great way to keep your brushes dust free especially when they are clean. So you say what happened with the storage you were looking for?.....so I went to tjmaxx on a whole different day(at home mom so it's my outlet when I get to get out. Plus not to many stores here) and I saw that same $24.99 unit. So I grabbed it and kept walking around. Good thing I didn't settle because I stumbled on these;
Clearly chic storage units. So I put down the one I had in my hand. Why you say? Well it looked exactly like this and the price of that one was equal to the price of these two. These two were $12.99 each. Eureka I had found what I had wanted and so much cheaper.
Not only are they great because you can see what you have but they are stackable. I love these. I wish I had bought more.
I was able to store a lot of stuff in them as you can see. Since then I have seen these at Marshall's. They also have them with lipstick storage on top either as a whole unit or you can but the piece for the lipstick storage separately( with lipstick storage $16.99, lipstick storage separately $7.99). I plan to add more because this is not even all of my makeup. They are cute and inexpensive.
So you can either go with the plastic drawers which are really in expensive and come in a variety of sizes and colors. You can find those just about anywhere.....funny nought I had found some in tjmaxx. You can buy the really expensive units or get these great units from Marshall's or tjmaxx. If you don't find them there do your research. There are very similar ones that I have also seen on the container store.com. There are great ways to store your favorite items whether it is makeup or even jewelry. I hope this inspires you if not check out some great ideas on Pinterest. Stay fab Divas!

Going, going,.......

So I told you I wasn't really done with this months haul. I still have about another week so we will see. What I did just get from MAC (I am a MAC makeup lover) was from the Lourde collection, Pure Heroine. It is a limited edition shade. You are probably saying Diva this isn't new. I know but it was something I said I could wait and buy because they will have it. It wasn't sold out so I had time. Besides I have the original heroine.
Here they are together. The original on the right. I love, love, love this color. The difference in the two would have to be not only the feel but the look.
Here are the swatches. Can you see the difference? On the bottom is the pure heroine and on top is the original heroine which is more of a matte lipstick compared to the pure which has more of a shine. It goes on so nice and is so vibrant. If you don't have this in your collection I suggest you get it while they have it because once it is gone, it is gone. You will still be able to get the original heroine but why not have choices. Like shoes you can never have to many choices so why not with your lipstick. Anyway Divas I am not promising that is it but this is all for now. My haul video is coming soon to YouTube so say tuned( YouTube.com/user/DivasHouse). I am still trying out what I bought this month. In the meant time stay fab!

July Haul

So I know July isn't over but I think I am done makeup shopping for this month.......lol sike! There is a possibility that there will be more before the month is over but I can't promise anything.
So this is everything that I purchased. This is a combination of Ulta, Kmart, cvs, walgreens and BhCosmetics. So this is what's in the pic from left to right. I have the Lorac alter ego lipstick in the shade free sprit, Milani lipstick orange-Gina, La Girl lipgloss bombshell and coy, NYX hd studio setting power, NYX violet mascara, NYX brow in dark brown, BhCosmetics pop art brushes, Carol's Daughter chocolat blow drying cream and in the middle Milani eyeshadow Bella violet and BhCosmetics forever nude palette. I have to say a lot of this stuff were great finds and a great sale caught.
These were on sale at BhCosmetics during Fourth of July. It was called stars, stripes and glam set. Got both of these for $19.95. This palette is a great combination of eye shadow, highlight, blush and lipstick. The brush set is a 10 piece set. Love how these brushes feel. Can't wait to use them.
Here are the swatches from the La Girl lip paint. From left to right is bombshell and then coy. I am loving the coy it is a great purple gloss. I am in love with purple when it comes to my makeup.
Here is a pretty eyeshadow I got from Milani. Purchased this at walgreens. It's so pretty. And very pigmented.
Also got this is Milani; orange-Gina. It has a nice shimmer to this to. Stepping out and trying new colors.
Last of the swatches is this pretty color from Lorac. Such a pretty purple. Nice and creamy. Goes up there with some of my faves from MAC.
The Carol's Daughter blow drying cream I liked. Hair smelled great and it was definitely less frizzy. Definitely had the fly-a-ways laying down.
I have to say this haul had a great mixture of stuff. I am all about trying new products that will help me have that beat look. Anyway ladies that is my haul lol so far for this month. If there is more I will come back with it. In the mean time stay fab.

From old to fab

Hey Divas. So I have a lot of spare time to think up projects. This latest project was done to go with my Desk to Vanity project that I featured on one of my pages (Facebook.com/IAmaMakeupJunkieDiva) and on YouTube. So I had a old hand mirror that I wanted to glam up a bit to go with my vanity. The only problem was.....it was royal blue and not Tiffany Blue. So I decided to spray paint it.
The color I used is called ocean blue by krylon. I purchased it at walmart. I sprayed it and then used a clear coat on the back so that it had a nice shine. This wasn't enough though so I ordered some decoden pieces to go on my new mirror.
I ordered those pieces from a store on etsy.com and the glue I already had. PI purchased it probably from Michael's. I also got flat back pearls to go with the project.
Here is my end product. The letters I dug up from my craft draw. I painted them white to go with the theme and added aqua colored rhinestones to two of the letters. I thought the white pearls were a little plain so I added black rhinestones. Now I have a glam mirror that was very inexpensive and looks great on my vanity. Hope this gave you either a cute idea or inspires you to add a little glam to your makeup space. Stay Fab.
