Silanty: Beauty Blender and Konjac Sponge Review

Hello my fabulous Diva Dolls so this week we are not talking about skin care but we are going to talk about some beauty tools that I received from Silanty Beauty via amazon. They sent me their beauty blender and konjac sponge at a discounted rate to review and share with you all. I have never had or used a konjac sponge so when I received it I didn't know what to think of it because it was very hard. The beauty blender looked very similar to the real authentic beauty blender. The real question is was it going to perform as well as the beauty blender.

So the test began. I did squeeze the blender and it was soft but didn't squish down like the original beauty blender so then I decided to wet the one from Silanty.  I was very surprised about how well it worked. It did a great job of blending out my highlighted areas. The only thing I didn't like was the tip of the blender was not as pointy as the original beauty blender to get under the eyes or in corner part as well as the original beauty blender. It was not hard like some other sponges that I tried at all. Which was nice to see it performed well. If it had been hard it would have been in the garbage. This sponge is definitely a keeper. I have gotten so much use out of it.

(Here is both blenders side by side. The black it the original beauty blender and the pink is Silanty makeup blender)

My overall impression of the this sponge a 8 out of 10. It does a great job. It blends the makeup out well. It is not hard and does not feel like I need to work extra hard on my face to blend. My only wish is that it was a little more slender at the top like the original beauty blender but it worked very well and I would recommend the sponge. I checked it out more on amazon and did not see that this sponge is sold alone so looks like dolls you can only get it in this set.

My next test was of the Konjac sponge. I have seen these online before but had never used one  much less had one of my own until now. Like I said in the beginning  when I got it I wasn't sure what to do with it. It was hard like a pumice stone in my opinion. It came with a small little plastic suction cup hook for me to hang it in my shower so I did. I decided to use it in the shower to wash my face with it. I got it wet and it softened up after getting it really saturated. It did a great job of cleaning my face. It was different from using my rotating brush because of course it is electronic and this sponge requires me to do the work to clean my face. It was not abrasive to my face at all. Now would I say this a sponge you need, or need to have. No not really. I didn't find anything special about this sponge. It was an alternative to using a spinning brush to clean your face (clarisonic or any other type like the clarisonic). It comes with the blending sponge so why not use. My ultimate thought is that is should be sold separately from the blending sponge as a option. The set is great together but I felt like I got more use out of the makeup blender than I did this konjac sponge.
The set was $18.99. I did get it for a discounted price as stated in the beginning. Would I buy it again. Honestly no. If they sold the makeup blender by itself I would definitely purchase another one of even two. I would even purchase if they sold it in a two pack or offered a mini size one.
My overall opinions of this set were I didn't have to many complaints about this set. I got a lot of use out of it and I am still using it. If you are interested in trying out the konjac sponge and want the added bonus of getting a blending sponge check out this set on amazon and purchase from this seller. If you have prime then you know you get free two day shipping and can be on your way to #perfectskinin2steps.
That is all for this weeks blog. Check out my video on this set on my yt channel. Link will be listed below.

Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum

Hello my Diva's and Divo's so I have another product review from our friends over at Valentia. This time it is there Night Revive Retinol Serum. I did get this for free of course in exchange for my honest review. You guys know I am going to give you my honest opinion always. So letst dive right into this product.

The Night Revive serum packaging gives details of a transformative retinol serum that fights wrinkles and provides hydration to also give you smoother and rejuvenated skin. The listed things that this serum says it will do
are:
  • diminishes wrinkles
  • stimulates collagen
  • improves skin tone
  • manages breakouts
  • conditions skin
Some of the ingridents in this serum are:
  • Retinol (Vitamin A) which works on a cellular level to stop wrinkles from forming, manages breakouts and also evens out skin discoloration.
  • Vitamin C which boost retinol's protective effects, guards the skin against free- radicals and the damage done to the skin by the environment.
  • Vitamin E which is great for moisture protection. Vitamin E also aids in hydrating the skin which diminishes the drying effects retinol.

How or when to use you may ask? This product is a night time serum so you would follow your normal routine but before you moisturize you would apply the serum to your face and decollete. If you notice any irritation use every 2-3 days instead of every day. Make sure to use a moisturizer with spf during the day.
You do get 1.18 oz of product in this bottle. It is in their usual packaging but this has a medicine dropper to get just enough product to rub into your skin. This product is not as thick as a cream so a pump would probably be a mess so I like the option of the dropper. This one does not have the color of their other serums nor the smell. It absorbs very well into the skin. I do not use it every night. I haven't experienced any issues with it at all. You definitely have to moisturize after using it because your skin will feel dry after use.
I like this serum. I think it works well and it isn't priced bad either. Would I suggest it and any of Valentia's other products and I would say yes. I have notice from using the products even with all the other things I am trying that my skin looks a lot better than before. A lot of the discoloration is gone and I do not have nearly as much breakouts like I had before.
If you are looking for great skin care that has a luxurious feel to it I will definitely recommend you trying out Valentia. If you aren't fully convinced check out their website to get more information for yourself.

You can find them at www.valentia.com or on all their social media. All the links will be posted down below.

New vs Old...Derma E Hydrating Day and Night Creme Packaging update

Hello Divas and Divos Welcome back! So this week I am bring you another great product review. Some of you may be no stranger to this product and for some of you, you may be hearing about this for the first time. I received this lovely package from Derma E. These items were sent to me for free for the sole purpose of reviewing. All opinions are my own and not of the company.
If you have never heard of Derma E let me tell you a little bit about this brand. Derma E was founded by David Stern and Dr. Linda Miles D.O.M in 1984 with a commitment to make earth-friendly, skin-friendly skin care. Derma E offers over 80 face and body care items. There products are cruelty free, gmo free, gluten and soy free, and recyclable. Another key important feature to their products they do not contain parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or artificial colors. Derma E believes in Eco Friendly Skin Care. Take a look at this excerpt from the Derma E website.

Choosing Eco-Friendly Natural Skincare By Dr. Linda Miles L. Ac., D.O.M.

DERMA E believes in healthy skin, a healthy world and a healthier environment.  We feel that through maintaining environmentally responsible business practices, supporting animal welfare and land conservation programs, and manufacturing eco-friendly, ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ skincare products, we are continuously striving to make the world a better place.  To help you strengthen your commitment to the environment every day, here are some factors to consider when purchasing skincare that will help keep both your skin and our earth healthy.

I found this message to be very profound. Not only do they believe in keeping our environment safe but they care about what goes on to our skin and what later goes into our water and trash cans.

I was sent their Day and Night cream that contains Hyaluronic Acid. Lets begin with the Day Crème. The packaging details that the day crème helps "reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle by replumping skin with moisture." The hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin and keeps it "soft, smooth and youthful looking". The vitamins plus green tea in the crème protects the skin from the every day damage the environment may cause to the skin.
The Night time Crème boast details of hydrating your skin while you sleep. It replumps the skin and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. the night cream also contains the same vitamins and green tea as the day time crème.
Lets talk about the product itself. When looking at both creams and testing the consistency I noticed they were both a nice thick and creamy consistency. I rubbed them in on the back of my hand and noticed that one cream was a little thicker than the other. The day time cream was a great consistency for hydrating during the day but not to heavy to a point where it weighted down your skin.  The night time cream in my opinion felt a little thicker and heavier on the skin but I found that to be a great thing. You are probably saying Diva how can that be a good thing? Well when I woke up the next morning my skin felt soft and very moisturized. I did not wake up with dry skin at all. In the past I may have had dry patches on my face in the morning and I feel like using a moisturizer that can hydrate my skin over night is great.

Let's talk about packaging. One of the reasons I was sent this package was to feature their new packaging. Their message is definitely lost in their new packaging. You still get all the important info needed to know about this product from reading the packaging. Their new packaging gives you a little bit more insight into their belief in ethical beauty  by showing you what the old packaging just told you. The old packaging in my opinion is nice but I feel like the new packaging of the product was a little more refined and had almost a luxurious look to it. The same thing goes for the jars. Nothing was lost in terms of size. You get 2 oz of product in both. There is no crazy fragrant smell. The smell is not offensive either but I couldn't place my nose on what the scent was. The newer packaging allows you to see better when you are out of product also which is a great feature. It isn't an important factor but it is nice to be able to look at the jar and tell you are almost out versus having to open it up to see if you are almost out.

Derma E can be found at some of our favorite stores such as Target, Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Whole Foods and Sallys beauty just to name a few. You will begin to notice a change in product packaging which has already begun and will continue to roll out into next year. One thing remains the same about this brand even with the change in packaging. They are committed to remaining a brand that is eco friendly to our environment and most of all our skin. I will definitely be looking into more of their products and trying them for myself. I suggest you Dolls do the same. Let me know in the comments section what are your thoughts or if you have used any of Derma E's products. Till next time Diva Dolls stay Fab!

Make sure you check out Derma E on their social media and on the web @ dermae.com and use the #dermae on social media when you are sharing your love for the product

Fresh Face with Evian Mineral Water Spray

Hey Diva's and my fabulous Divo's so I have a great product that you are going to want to hear about. It is Evian Mineral Water spray. I was sent this product to review in exchange for my honest review and you know I am going to give you my honest review. I have seen this product in Ulta and Sephora a few time and was very curious about this product. I often wondered was it even worth it. The first day it arrived I had to give it a try. Boy was I surprised as to how cooling it was to my face. It was like a breath of fresh air to my skin.
The spray comes in 3 different sizes. There is the 1.7oz, 5oz and 10.1oz size. The 1.7oz is ideal for travel and fits in with the guidelines of what you can travel with in terms of liquid sizes. When I went to look at price I could not find where they sold the travel size as a single. It was sold as a duo or trio ranging from $15-21.  For a 5oz size it was $12.50 and for the 10.1oz it was $18. I think if I was going to repurchase this product I would purchase either the duo great for every day use while I am outside or the 5oz which is a great bang for the buck for that size. Now you are probably saying why so much for water in a can? Think of all the other hydrating sprays you buy for your face. They are either made with a bunch of items you can not pronounce or they may have things in them that may not agree with you skin. This product is natural spring water. It is great for all skin types and can be used through out the day.
It is very simple to use whether it is before you apply your makeup or after you have been wearing your makeup for a few hours. If you are not a makeup wearer this still would be great. I checked out some of the reviews people left on both Ulta and Sephora.com Many said they like how it gave there face a wake me up. Some even used it to calm their hair down and others just liked that it took the perspiration away. I noticed on a very hot day here in Atlanta it was a nice refreshing feeling that calmed my skin.  It calmed my perspiration down and refreshed my makeup. I wear makeup daily to work so this was nice to refresh my makeup and hydrate my face.
I would start my day with a spray of the Evian Mineral Water spray and let it settle into my skin. From there I would go about my routine. I even used it in place of my fix plus to moisten my skin after I applied my LA girl pro concealer and then go in with my beauty blender to blend out my highlight. It worked great. Be sure to hold it a good distance away from your face. I made the mistake of it being to close and some of my concealer splashed up on my lids lol. Some where in the day I would give my face a spray just to freshen up my face. It always felt so good on my skin.
As you can see from the picture I held it a good distance away from my face and sprayed the water on my face. This is a product I would suggest especially in the hot months. When you are looking for some relief or to cool your skin down this is a great product. You don't just have to use it on your skin. You can use it on your hair also. I noticed what as I sprayed it on my face some of it got on my hair and my hair layed down nicely. If I had been wearing curly hair this would be great to have in my purse to calm down any frizz that I might have. You know that the heat and wind can definitely cause major frizz. You don't walk around with product to calm your hair around but you can walk around with this in your purse and give a quick spray and calm down frizzy hair.
I would recommend this product also for brides, especially summertime brides. You may say but why Diva? Well here is why. Evian mineral water spray is going to be great for calming down any perspiration you may have during the day(great if wedding is outdoors). It is also going to refresh your face so that it does not look dry. You will have a nice dewy look all over again. It is simple enough to use especially if you do not have a makeup artist around to freshen up your face or retouch you. The 1.7oz size is small enough to fit in a brides purse or bridal must have bag of items you are going to need whether before or after the ceremony.
Now I am going to be honest with you because this is my honest opinion is it a must have? do you need to buy? and my honest answer is no it is not a must buy or a must have but I can say after experiencing it and formulating my own thoughts on it I would repurchase it for all of the reasons I listed above. It had multipurpose uses for me. I live in the south where it is very hot during the summer months. I would use this especially if I was outside in the heat and wanted some relief from the heat. I find it safe enough to even use on my daughter to keep her skin cool or ta me her very curly hair. So even though it is not a must have why wouldn't you consider buying it for all the great reasons I told you it would be good for. Compare it to all the other hydrating sprays you may purchase you will find you are spending a lot less and you don't have to worry about it not agreeing with your skin because it is great for all skin types.
Well Diva's and Divo's that is all I have for you. Make sure you check out http://evianspray.com
for more information on this product. Also remember you can find this product at Ulta and Sephora. The larger sized bottles can only be purchase on Sephora.com

Valentia Calming Mist Toner

Hey Diva's and Divo's so yes I know two blogs in one week from the same company. But I received this item right after the last one. This is the Valentia Fresh Mist Calming Toner. You get 4oz of product that is suitable for all skin types. It is alcohol free and paraben free. Their products are cruelty free. The toner is a "skin soothing elixir that rehydrates and refreshes, while balancing natural pH and shrinking pores."
The toner should be used after cleaning the face but before applying any serums. It can be used throughout the day to refresh the skin. The product feels absolutely amazing on the skin. It is refreshing to the skin and has a vitamin c smell. Not the fresh orange juice smell but the medicine kind of vitamin c smell. It is not offensive but it is not a scent that would make you think luxurious.

The ingredients in this toner include:
  • nano structured water
  • witch hazel
  • vitamin c
  • ala + aha
  • tea tree oil
I have been using this product for some time now and I thoroughly enjoy how refreshed my skin feels and how quickly it absorbs into the skin. I like that you get 4oz of product versus 1oz like their serums. The price of this product was just $20 and I got it on amazon. I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review and the shipping was free because I have amazon prime.
I would definitely recommend this product. If feels great on the skin and can be use thru out the day to keep a fresh hydrated face. I have not used it while wearing makeup but I do use it thru out the day when I am not wearing makeup especially since it is very hot here in Atlanta. If yout are interested in seeing me review this product check out the link down below.

Get Glowing Skin w/Valentia Pure Glow Moisturizer

Hey Diva's and Divo's so I am bringing you another great product from Valentia and it is their Pure Glow Moisturizer. First as a disclaimer I did receive this product for free in exchange for my hones review and I have been enjoying Valentia products since the first time I tried their detoxifying clay mask and this pure glow moisturizer has not been a disappointment. It feels luxurious on the skin. It does not leave your skin feeling sticky or oily at all. It is very moisturizing and absorbs will into the skin. It will definitely have your skin glowing.
After I follow my normal routine of cleaning my makeup off and cleansing my face I end with this moisturizer before I go to bed. I take one to two pumps of this product and rub all over my face and neck area. In the morning after washing my face I will apply before beginning my makeup routine. My face feels hydrated and healthy after each use.

Lets talk about the specks of this product. Unlike the serums I have shared with  you this product has  4.0 oz of product compared to their serums that only has 1.0oz of product. It is paraben free and suitable for all skin types. The product says it will:
  • lighten dark spots
  • restore radiance
  • even skin tone
  • diminish fine lines
  • provides all day hydration
The product contains Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Kojic Acid, Ginseng, Safflower Oil, and Shea butter. The Botanical Hyaluronic Acid is a plant based substance that helps to secure moisture and support skin elasticity. Kojic Acid is known for skin lightening and naturally controls melanin production and helps to prevent dark spots. Ginseng boost the skins collagen, fight wrinkles and gives the skin a brighter and more energized look. The safflower oil is rich in linoleic acid which is an essential fatty acid that helps to repair the skins natural moisture barrier and last the shea butter that provides moisture and hydrates the skin. All of these ingredients are definitely a reason to use this product.

The smell of the product is not like a flower scent or non scent. To me it smelled like their serums almost a bit citrusy in scent to me. Their products are cruelty free and has a 12 month shelf life. I have to give this product 4 out of 5 only because I wish it had a more luxurious scent to it and the bottle could use a more luxurious look to it to match the feel of this product.

New York Biology Retinol Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid

Hey Diva's and Divo's so we are talking about some products I received for free in exchange for my honest review. These product is from New York Biology.
The item I received is there Retinol Face Cream with Hyaluronic Acid. The ingredients in this cream are as follows: Green Tea, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Propolis, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter. The packaging states that the cream should help fight signs of aging and get rid of wrinkles from the face. I don't have a wrinkles lol fine lines maybe but to young for wrinkles lol. I have managed to work this into my routine both morning and evening. In the morning when I get up I will wash my face and apply a small amount before beginning  my make up routine. In the evening after removing my makeup and cleaning my face I apply a nice amount all over my face and neck area. I have noticed since using it my skin has had a nice glow to it. If feels firm and smooth. I have noticed that the dark spots on my face are not as dark. There is some life to my skin. I have to give it 4 stars for that.

The packaging of product is pretty basic. There is nothing eye catching about this product. It does come in a jar that has a pump at the top. Which would probably be something you are not use to, a jar with a pump but it actually does work because you do not end up wasting product. You get the right amount to use. One downfall the jar has is that you can not see how much product you have left. You do get 1.7fl of product in the jar. This is a lot of product because like a I said before a little does go a long way for this product. So for product packaging I give it a 3 out of 5.
All in all I did enjoy this product. It has been working for me and I will continue to use it but I don't think I will be repurchasing this product.
